It's been a very long time since I've visited Rye Playland park and a few things have changed. The rides are the same and still has that awesome authentic amusement park feel. I took my toddler son after school one day and they had plenty of rides for his age and height. I couldn't get him off the little roller coaster for a good 30 min.
I love the nostalgia of Playland Park! It's close and easy to get to. My kids love going here. Plenty of parking. It would be nice to see more of a managerial presence. The kids that work here have zero interest in their jobs and are just going through the motions. But all in all a great summer family activity.
It was a great day I was with my grandson and my daughter and we had a really nice time. The food was very good but the service was a little bits off. I guess that because they were very crowded at the restaurant over there they didn't really take care of the customers as quickly as they would have wanted to. But the food was very good once it did get to us it was just it took so long to get the food. And I wish that the weather would have been warmer but no one has control of that. So overall it was a really great day and I really love that beach and amusement park.
So super fun. Old-fashioned fair / amusement park with a few cool roller coasters and fun rides. Thursdays are $15 unlimited rides. Parking is $5. There's bumper cars and cotton candy and popcorn and a kids area. Right on the beach. Highly recommend.
The food selections have improved with the addition of a couple of new fast food franchise stands.
Was at the ICE CASINO. Hadn't been there in years. What a great old building. 2 Small rinks for the kids. Rentals available (But they have some wear on them)
My only issue. If you were just going with your family to spend the day and watch the kids enjoy the rides. There is a $10 spectator pass for non residents. I remember it used to be free.
